Meta interview: impact, speed and preparation
· 6 min read
At Meta, the culture emphasizes impact and speed of execution (“move fast”). Interviews look for candidates able to deliver concrete results, take initiative and collaborate at scale. Preparation plays out on these axes.
The process usually blends technical rounds (for relevant roles) and behavioral rounds centered on impact and leadership.
Impact above all
Meta values what you concretely changed. Prepare examples where your action produced a measurable result, where you took initiative unprompted, or where you prioritized to move fast without breaking things. The “why” of your decisions matters.
Behavioral rounds
- “A project where you had the most impact — how did you measure it?”
- “A time you made a fast decision under uncertainty.”
- “A conflict or disagreement and how you resolved it.”
- “How do you prioritize when everything seems important?”
The technical part (if relevant)
For engineering: coding (algorithms, data structures) and often system design depending on level. Practice out loud, clarifying requirements and discussing trade-offs.
Stay concrete and structured
Whether the question is technical or behavioral, structure your answer and rely on facts. With JobView, practice telling your achievements with impact and answering with method under pressure.
